Much
will be said by the opposition during this campaign, Much of it will be lies, innuendos, and half-truths. We will offer THE TRUTH. Sometimes the responses will be quotes from the President himself; Others may be news reporting of the issue being discussed; Others may be explanatory materials that the
reader can interpret him/herself.
Cherry Tree
The Romney campaign claims that President Obama is ending work requirements for welfare recipients. THIS IS A LIE! The Department of Health and Human
Services is reviewing how to meet the request of Republican governors to allow states to set their own work standards for
welfare recipients in their jurisdictions. TELL OTHERS THE TRUTH! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Whoa! Paul Ryan stated in his nominatiion acceptance
speech that President Obama's policies led to the closure of a General Motors auto plan in his home town of Janesville, Wisconsin.
The closure was announced in February 08, 11 months before President Obama took office! Oh,
the argument is that it is President Obama's fault because the auto plant did not re-open under his watch. Okay, right!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Romney and Ryan's Medicare proposal ends Medicare as we
know it by turning it into a voucher system. This is "privatization" and removes the Medicare guarantee for health
coverage. Instead, seniors will be given a voucher to cover their costs for private insurance. Seniors will have to
obtain private coverage and use the voucher to cover part of those costs -- not all. In fact, it is estimated that health
care costs will rise on average $6,000 per year for each senior. Yet -- Yet -- Yet -- Republicans claim that Obamacare
took $700 billion from the Medicare program -- but it did not. That $700 billion was taken from programs that support
private insurers and inefficiencies in the Medicare program. That $700 billion DID NOT cut any essential
services or programs in the current Medicare system.
